FILMCORE - Analogue Underwater Learning Day - 10th February 2025 - DEPOSIT
I’ve said this before, some of my fave photos ever of my own family are ones I’ve taken in water. I guess it’s to do with the freedom of long summer days, Christmas celebrations, travel, the ease of bodies that are warm and free and having a great time. These photographs tend to be very action-oriented, very much about the experience, and super fun. Definitely perfectly imperfect. Very present. So, if you’d like to be more confident using film a the beach, pool, or camping by the river, I’m offering a day long deep-dive into this topic, early enough in the new year that you’ll still have the time (and the confidence) to practice on your own fam before the summer is over!.
This will be an intimate workshop experience with only 4 participants. There is a possibility for me to organise a babysitter to accompany us for the day, so let me know that if that would be helpful to you.
When: Monday, February 10th, 2025. 10am til 4pm. PLUS: a post workshop 1 hour Zoom where we review everyone’s scans and keep figuring it out.
Where: 440 Keys Rd Flinders in the morning, and then after lunch at a local beach. Lunch provided.
Full price: $450. Booking deposit $150, the remainder of $350 will be automatically invoiced on January 20th.
To bring: A film camera with underwater capability, and if you are still considering a more premanent purchase, a single-use waterproof camera will suffice. One roll of Portra400 will be supplied. Please bring bathers, a towel and prepare to get wet (this seems obvious, but in case it’s not lol…), this day will go ahead regardless of the Melbourne weather!
